Intellectual property is protected in various ways under different rules and regulations.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is the Federal agency for granting US Patents and registering Trademarks. The Library of Congress is responsible for Copyright registration and you can find the portal to do that here.

You can search for patents, trademarks and copyrighted works, and find guidance on the application processes, by using the databases and free online resources listed here.
