A status of "on search" means that unfortunately, the book isn't where it is supposed to be, and we are looking for it. It might be permanently missing, or it might have accidentally been shelved in the wrong place. We usually give books some time to turn back up before we decide whether to replace them.

If you need a book that is "on search" or "missing," you can use the MOBIUS catalog to see if there are other available copies elsewhere in our statewide library network and place a request for one.

If you need help tracking down a book or identifying alternative sources, you are encouraged to ask a librarian.
